Founded in 1981 by Dan Lang, a fourth-generation transportation professional, Dandy began as Dandy Intermodal Service during a pivotal era of deregulation, a time that greatly evolved the trucking industry and reshaped the landscape of transportation. Inspired by his father, who instilled in him the values and knowledge of the transportation industry, Dan launched this venture. We started by transporting "piggyback" containers between railroad ramps in Chicago, Illinois, and Western Pennsylvania, quickly expanding to the Tri-State areas of Ohio, Northern West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. After nearly a decade of excelling in intermodal hauling, we made a strategic shift in 1990 towards for-hire over-the-road freight. By 1994, we proudly incorporated and officially became Dandy Service Corporation.
From our humble beginnings with just one truck, our family-owned operation has flourished. Today, Dandy Service Corporation operates a fleet of 70 tractors and over 400 trailers, offering reliable transportation services across the Continental United States and into Ontario, Canada—hauling everything from general commodities to hazardous materials.
